AeroMechanical Services Ltd. TSX-V Trading Symbol "AMA"
A Tier 2 Industrial Issuer
CALGARY and BOSTON, May 21 /CNW/ - AeroMechanical Services Ltd. ("AMA")
is pleased to announce that Mr. Richard Hayden, a Vice President of
Meggitt PLC's Sensing Systems Division (www.meggitt.com), will be employed by
AMA effective July 1st to establish AMA's new initiative in business aviation.
Mr. Hayden is leaving Meggitt on good terms and will continue to work with the
Meggitt AMA relationship. AMA will be providing its patented afirs(TM)
UpTime(TM) system and information delivery services to the business aircraft
community through our FLYHT brand name. The process will be commencing
immediately on a Hawker Beechcraft family of business aircraft for which AMA
recently received the required provisions Supplemental Type Certificate
("STC") approvals from Transport Canada and the FAA to allow for a flight
test.
Dr. Richard Greaves, Managing Director of Meggitt Sensing Systems stated,
"We are pleased that Mr. Hayden will remain part of the exciting initiatives
that Meggitt companies are undertaking with AeroMechanical Services Ltd. and
look forward to continuing our productive relationship with AMA. We are
confident that Dick will help both companies and our customers realize the
potential of our relationship and our industry-leading products."
Mr. Bill Tempany, CEO of AMA added, "The last 30 months of working with
Mr. Hayden and Meggitt on many exciting initiatives has shown us that the
breadth and depth of his experience are required to undertake as complex a
business proposition as business aircraft will be for AeroMechanical Services
Ltd. Mr. Hayden has successfully led the introduction of this type of
technology into other industry segments with great benefits realized, and we
are confident that our team can bring important benefits to business aviation
in these times of increasing importance of unscheduled operations in the
overall air transportation equation. We are very excited to take this next
step in the evolution of our company and believe this will be a very rewarding
venture for all concerned."
Mr. Hayden, a mechanical engineer by training (BS, Norwich University;
MS, Purdue University), has led the development and successful transition into
production of new monitoring and diagnostic technologies and products for
aviation for 25 years. The common theme has been automated acquisition,
processing, and fusion of sensor data to support improved operations,
compliance, and maintenance enhancements. As founder and CEO of Technology
Integration Inc., he provided vision and collaborated with end users, OEMs,
and industry partners to optimize product capabilities and suitability, as
well as building staff and partners that created two innovative products that
are now industry standards: IMD-HUMS (Integrated Mechanical Diagnostics-Health
and Usage Management System) for helicopters, acquired and produced by
Goodrich Corporation and now standard fit on Sikorsky Aircraft products and
several US military platforms; and ANOMS(TM) (Airport Noise and Operations
Monitoring System), now a Lochard (www.lochard.com) product installed at major
airports globally. Mr. Hayden has been with Meggitt since 2002 and has served
as the primary interface between AMS and Meggitt for the past 2-1/2 years. In
his new role, he will continue to provide connectivity and coordination
between the two organizations to help deliver highly effective monitoring and
data delivery solutions to the aviation industry.
